Hi, I’m Amy!
I’ve been a photographer for over 14 years specializing in portraits, maternity, small weddings, and headshots located in Columbia, MD but shooting all over the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. My mission is to make professional photography a fun and enjoyable experience using natural light and spaces.
My goal is to make every client feel comfortable and at ease, while we’re shooting and deliver beautiful and natural photos every time.
Capturing clients at their most beautiful moments and incredible milestones is a privilege and it’s one I take very seriously. Let’s work together!
The art of photography has been in my family for generations.
My grandfather started working at a Chicago camera factory after fleeing Germany during WWII and stayed for 40 years. He passed along that passion to my dad who picked up the camera as a teenager and kept going throughout his life. His photography was published in national press coverage of the 1968 Columbia University protests.
I learned the principles of the craft from him, shooting in Baltimore on Saturdays with him and a small film camera. In college, I studied film photography where I honed my craft not only behind the camera but in the darkroom.
After college, I started shooting events for friends and family over the years slowly starting to build up a business and a client base, but always letting my 9-5 jobs take away from my photography.
In 2020, after coming off of a presidential campaign, I lost my dad to COVID. Losing him made me want to reconnect to photography as a way to connect with him. After I picked up my camera again, I didn’t want to put it down.

I love working with young professionals, couples and growing families and seeing them come back year after year, shoot after shoot. To me, it’s an honor to capture these moments, big and small, that make up our lives and give my clients something beautiful to remember it by.
